Fluid Movement

*photos from Bergdorf

Being caught between seasons is officially taking its toll on me.
The stores scream spring.
The ads scream spring.
And sixty degree temps here today had my toes longing to be perfectly polished and out on display.
However, the calendar reminds us that tomorrow is only the 1st of March.

And what is that old addage again?
In like a lion and out like a lamb?
I am hoping for both a lamb~like arrival as well as departure.

Since I am completely lacking my own original inspiration, I look to amazing, flowing dresses like these Lanvin ones to reignite my fashion passion.
Such fluid fabrics scream for a change of weather!
If money was no object, which one would you choose?
i am partial to 2 & 4...

This Necklace

Do you understand how much I love this necklace?
How bad ~ ass it truly is?
How I
How I want to hold it in my arms and sing it sweet, sweet love songs?
Well maybe not sing to it.
I knew as soon as I saw it on Monday that I would buy it on Tuesday.
And wear it on Wednesday.
And maybe again on Thursday.

Slip Sliding Away...

for emily my northern friend!

On Monday morning my brother and I took my daughter ice skating at our township indoor rink.
I haven't ice skated since I was a kid, and I was scared to death!
But I figured if I can snowboard, then I should be able to ice skate as well, right?
And guess what?
It was like riding a bike!
There were a few nerve wracking moments at first, but once I got out on there I found it all came right back to me!
Thank goodness my brother was there to help Ryan so I could hone my skills without her taking me down.
At the end I grabbed the calendar so as to see when all the public skating times are.
I think I found myself a new hobby.
Oh winter sports, I do love you!

I arrived home late last night after a jam packed week in Ohio.
After sitting in meetings for 12 hours straight on Wednesday, I was rewarded with a shopping bag of clothes waiting for me on my bed Thursday evening.
The best part?
Inside was a pair of white flare jeans I had already decided that my summer wardrobe couldn't live without!

While it's tough to be away from my family for almost an entire week, it's fun to dress up in clothes and shoes that are not always condusive to a normal everyday life!

I spent the week laptop-less and commenting on your blogs from my iPhone is a near impossible task.
But trust that I have read every post, and look forward into getting back in the swing of things next week.

Happy Weekending Everyone!

Outfit Auditions

By the time you read this, I'll be back in Ohio for the remainder of the week.
Packing to attend a work related event is stressful.
But truth be told, for such a clothes horse as myself, it is stress of the friendliest kind.
I liken it to what packing for Fashion Week must be like for those that must travel into NYC to attend.
Working for such a major fashion brand means that everyone will be dressed to the 9's, head to toe in company attire.
Kind of like celebrities do when attending a designer event a la Camilla Belle @ Gucci:

picture from

Head to toe in Gucci.
And she looks fab.
Not always the case at work events regarding the head to toe look.
No one should be dressed like the mannequins.
While I incorporate some brand items into almost everything I wear on a daily basis, coming up with A~mazing ensembles whilst actually calculating how much brand you are wearing = stress.
What I am driving at is that it is the actual thinking about how much "brand" you have on is what takes it to a whole other level.
That and, "what will it look like to be sitting in all day?"
"Is this statement necklace enough brand with this outfit?"
"What if I succumb to the carbohydrate assault outside the meeting room doors at every break...will I feel uncomfortable in this?"
Oh, these thoughts that torment the soul!

Since we are carrying full on spring styles currently, and yet the weather informs us it is still winter added a whole other challenge yet.
Sport some of the spring line, but try not to look like an ill~equipped arse.

It is all too much to handle.
So outfit auditions were on the agenda for today.

the items?
can you guys just wait until i wear them?
that's a long list to itemize and type...

Girl Crush

It is not often that I am in complete jaw-dropping awe of someone's style.
Where everything they wear sings to my soul, and I just get it.
Straight to my core.

Enter Lucy Laucht.
A stylist originally from England, who has lived in Australia  and is currently residing in New York...
Which I admittedly find super cool even at the risk of being thought a stalker.
(No worries...I am definitely not!)

I haven't felt this bowled over since I discovered Kelly Framel and The Glamourai almost 2 years ago.
I found myself hungrily poring through all of Lucy's posts this afternoon, it was like being spoon fed divine inspiration.
To my sheer delight, she incorporates many of the same items again and again.
I love how she gives everlasting life to a well edited wardrobe.
She shares my love for a good pair of trousers, and she obviously holds her Phd. in layering!
I could gush on and on but I think you'll understand better if I just show you some of my favorites:

could anything be more effortlessly chic?

You see why I've swooned and gone to heaven, right?

With A Dot Dot Here And A Dot Dot There...

If you follow me on Twitter, than you know that last weekend started with a visit to the doctor and a diagnosis of strep throat and an ear infection for my little Noodle of a daughter.
(not a happy camper)

Luckily, by Sunday night she was feeling better.
And it was the Superbowl, so we had plenty of this:

(my new favorite beer!)

And plenty of this:

(which is partly why I am on a strict diet regime right now)

Things had finally started to seem like they were back to normal.
How did I know my daughter was feeling better?
Well, she and Winnie had a little wrestling session fighting over a blow up hammer, that's how!

(fyi, Winnie won)

Well,  exactly one week later, we have started our weekend out in exactly the same way:

(Yikes, right?)

My poor daughter broke out in a severe rash as a result of taking amoxicillin!
Who knew?
And yes, the rash can begin 7-8 days after they have been taking the medicine!
She looks worse than she feels actually, and with somewhat warmer temps this morning we wanted to take Winnie for her first walk on a leash so my daughter begged and begged to join us.
How could I say no to that face???

(she kept her hood up so people couldn't see her face!)

After that we went to see the doctor of course, since my diagnosis was simply based on google search results.
They agreed it was definitely a reaction to the amoxicillin so my poor little girl is on Benadryl every 6 hours.
The rash actually starts out as single red bumps all over the torso and face and then they blend together and now encompass her whole body.
Feet included.

And yes, it's itchy.
