We Interrupt This Blogging...

I got up and dressed this morning so I could head out and do important stuff like get my husband's oil changed in his car and buy paper towel at Target.
As soon as I stepped outside I turned on my heel, walked back indoors, changed into sweats, called my girlfriend and headed over to Island Heights NJ to walk their charming little boardwalk and soak up temperatures in the mid 60's and perfect sunny skies. Island Heights is a quaint riverside town where antique Victorian mansions dot the waterfront and the most adorable homes line the streets. It a minute or two drive from our homes and our favorite place to walk on these gorgeous winter days we've been blessed with.
Besides, these photos I took on our walk today are much better than seeing me in the same old jeans again....

  1. wow. just amazing. Can I come live with you??? This place just looks beautiful. I cannot believe you have had such warm temps lately. How nice for you- I would not enjoy the snow if I had to live in it everyday. My one little trip with 40 degree temps was plenty this weekend. (I am such an AZ girl!)

and...I love seeing you in the same old jeans. They never look old and you always inspire me to find cute new things in my closet.

    1. It is a little gem that is pretty much quietly off the grid for the most part. I would gladly give up our 100 degree days and humidity for year round cooler temperatures though!

  5. eleanor it's perfect timing for this post for me. i was just telling my husband yesterday that i'm putting a moratorium on shopping (even thrifting) b/c i want to start actually wearing my clothes in creative ways to real live places, not just my driveway! it looks like you had a fabulous day.

i was wondering if it might be you that won the dress! if for any reason you don't like it or it doesn't fit just let me know and we can work something out. i'm pretty new to ebay and don't offer returns but of course for a friend i would. i sent it off yesterday afternoon.

    1. No! Not Seaside! Island Heights is before the bridge to Seaside. It sits on the Toms River towards where it connects with Barnegat Bay if you are familiar with this area. Island Heights is NOTHING like Seaside. It is a true hamlet in this otherwise very Jersey Shorish area!
